FOTD No.2

Seeing as I have been working almost non-stop, I haven't been left with much time to do my makeup and usually just throw on some concealer. Im not really one to put loads of products on my face anyways,  I worked later today and decided to play with a few new products I've recently picked up.

Seen below:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum: I've been hearing a lot about this foundation and saw it in one of my local Shoppers and decided to buy a bottle. It's so smooth and just gives my skin the extra boost it needed. Its a great product year round, as it helps with my dull skin in the winter and I can only guess that it would look amazing in the summer.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder: This is such a good powder, very fine and I know a lot of people who use it. Another great this about it is that it's super cheap.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette: This is probably my most used palette, if any of you are thinking of getting it  I suggest you do. I use it almost every day. What I usually do? Mix a bit of Faint and Naked 2 (Faint being the one next to the black colour and Naked 2 being the lighter brown next to it) and use those to fill in my brows.

Clinique High Volume Mascara and Bottom Lash Mascara: If you have sensitive eyes I would recommend try Clinique mascara, I've tried a few and none of them have irritated my eyes as bad (It still bothers me for a little bit, but once the product has dried, I have no problems for the rest of the day) as all the others on the market that I have tried.

All Dolled Up | Makeup & Jewellry Set Up

I love having the things I love on display. This is in no way showing off, I have worked hard to make my room the way it is and love looking at other room decor post. This blog is after all, about the things I love.
So here's a little sneak peek on how i display my jewellery and makeup. Most of the items I picked up at winners and value village.
If, like me you like the shabby chic/vintage/old lady look in your space, I suggest going to thrift stores and markets to look for nicknacks and trinkets.
Teacups: not only are the cute, but also perfect for storing. I use some for lip stains/lip glosses and one for my most used makeup brushes. I also have a few teacups and saucers around my room that I have put tea lights in to give off a nice glow at night when I want to relax with an actual cup of tea and a book (currently I'm reading the Shadow Falls series, its pretty good if you like paranormal young adult books and are just looking for a fun light read).

Let me know in the comments if you want me to go into more detail about the makeup I use most often.
This is an old mirror a family friend had, she heard I was looking for a mirror about this size to do my makeup in and offered this frame. All I had to do was bring it in to mirror/glass shop where I got them to fit in a sheet of mirror. Ended up being so much cheaper than buying a mirror this size from any shop.
Hope you enjoyed this.

Glossy Box | March 2013

This months glossy came a little later as a result of the Easter weekend, but when it did I was not left disappointed. Five products came in this months box with the theme of metropolitan chic: Get back into the spring of things. Each product has the aim of getting you ready for spring! Oh, and Four of the Five products were FULL SIZE!

Model Co Cheek & Lip tint in Rosy Red: Tints are the perfect product for summer as they are lightweight and don't melt off your face in the summer heat. The Model Co tint in Rosy Red is perfect for me as a lip tint,, as I prefer a little bit of a darker lip. Check out the swatches below!
Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer: I was really excited when I saw this, as I am in need of a self tanner for the summer, and I love the gradual moisturizer ones. I used this straight after my shower that night. It made my skin so soft and the smell was amazing. The packaging says low oder, but there is a scent, and its the perfect scent for summer. Fresh with a bit of sweetness. Im exciting to keep using this and will probably buy the full size after I run out.
TRESemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment: To be honest, I thought this was just a regular conditioner at first, A product I don't use often as my hair is quite healthy already and I find whenever I do use conditioner it just makes my fine hair look really greasy. With that being said, I was going to use it for my dog. Of course I read more about it, and noticed that it was a treatment and used it the night I received the box. I concentrated it on the ends and worked whatever was left over throughout the rest of my head. My hair is so soft after using it, But like I said with the conditioner, my hair just doesn't look its cleanest. Thats probably only because of my hair type, but this is definitely a product I will use whenever my hair needs a little more moisture.
L'Oreal Youth Code Serum: This is another product I tried right away. I've been wanting to try a new serum for awhile now. What better chance to try one then now. This one is very lightweight and fast absorbing, it says to reduce dark spots and even skin tone. It's because of that I'm exciting to keep using it. This product and the four mentioned above are all FULL SIZE!
BM Platinum Tiara Eye Shadow: This, like the eye shadow quad that came with last months box probably won't get a lot of use out of me.
Swatches of the Cheek & Lip tint, a product I can see myself using throughout spring/summer, The eye shadow swatch, which i think would make a good bronze highlight throughout summer.

Makeup Routine

Makeup is definitely not my thing. I enjoy keeping things simple, but this is mostly because I have horrible vision in my right eye. Like, can't see a thing, so most eyeshadow is out of the question, and intricate detail is out of the question. And having to wake early for school in the mornings, i like my makeup to be quick, easy and long lasting.
Lately I've been starting my routine with simple's replenishing rich moisturizer. With winter coming up, I need to keep my skin moisturized.
I follow that up by patting clarins instant smooth perfecting touch base around my t-zone, cheeks and forehead. If I'm going to be wearing any makeup, this product is a must. Any product I put on over top, goes on much smoother and last as long as I need it (No makeup ever lasts long on my skin, anyone have any ideas on what i should use?).
Lately I've been using Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB cream and their Super Stay 24 hour concealer (both are amazing) and Mac Blot powder to set everything and keep some shine away.
Usually i would just stop here, but lately for my brows I've been using Rimmel's brow pencil in 002 Hazel and Sexy Curves Mascara...for my lashes.
Top the look off with a lip balm (Maybelline baby lips-Quenched) and sometimes a lipstick, and I'm done!
 Enjoy your day!
